A Conduit of Light, My Debut Novel

Hello and welcome to my author blog!

My name is Chelsey Ann Tompkins, the author of A Conduit of Light, my first novel and the first in its series with the same name.

A Conduit of Light's Beginning

I started writing this book in November 2022 and finished the first draft in March 2023. I always knew I would write a romance novel and seeing it come to completion is surreal and wonderful. Writing this story with these particular characters, I found myself struggling to live a normal life with my husband and two children because my characters were constantly talking to me, telling me their stories. I remember running upstairs to my computer often to jot down bits of dialogue or waiting in the pickup line for my son and typing out entire scenes on my phone with my then 3-year-old singing to Taylor Swift in the backseat.

We all survived the mess that I was as I wrote Ash, Karus, and Revich's story, and the story of Felgren, which has just been told at the surface level. I have so much more about this world to share with you, and as I write the second book, I am elated to see readers loving this story, these characters, these themes, and relating to all of it.
